Intellecap wanted to address the lack of incubation support faced by startups in India, as almost 95-98% enterprises do not find access to incubation/mentor support.
To address the above gap Intellecap partnered with Government of UK’s Department for International Development in India and GIZ (on behalf of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development) to conceptualize StartupWave. StartupWave is a common access gateway for all forms of entrepreneurship support for enterprises across various stages of growth. Its offerings are organized in specific sets of “pre-incubation” and “incubation” services that take entrepreneurs through a structured journey of business idea validation, iteration and mentorship support. Furthermore, to design and deliver its services, StartupWave has partnered with a large network of incubators, corporates, mentors, entrepreneur networks and investors. It also presents the network partners with a pipeline of high quality enterprises.
The “pre-incubation” service of StartupWave is the country’s first shared infrastructure for startup incubation. It is currently running with 250+ enterprises, 25 incubator partners and 20 mentors. Intellecap is now in the process of designing, building and piloting the “incubation” services of StartupWave over the course of then next few months.
